We are excited about the prospects of beginning the 2009-2010 school year and look forward to another successful academic school year!
We are very proud to announce that Heber School met and exceeded its Academic Performance Index (API) growth target for the 2008-2009 school year once again. The California Department of Education had set a growth target of 5 API points for Heber School. We have official notification that our API grew by 49 points. Heber School also met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) requirements for all of its sub-groups. This is an awesome accomplishment and we are very proud of the hard work of students, teachers, support staff, administrators, and parents. Congratulations to the community of Heber!
We look forward to your involvement in our school. We will continue to create partnerships with parents that will allow us to work as a team with the purpose of improving student learning. We cannot accomplish this task alone. We need your help, support, and active involvement. Throughout the school year, there will be plenty of opportunities for you to become involved in school activities. Heber School has established an active Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) and we would like to see more parents involved in these activities. There will also be many parent trainings during the course of the school year. Our "Room Parent" program has been reinitiated and we hope to see many parent volunteers in the classrooms.
